Summary:PURPOSE:To produce a high-nitrile resin which lowly emits an odor during molding and can give a lowly odorous molding by adding a specified coagulant to the latex in graft-polymerizing a mixture of an unsaturated nitrile with a comonomer in the presence of a diene rubber. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. mixture of an unsaturated nitrile (containing at least 50wt.% unsaturated nitrile) with a comonomer (e.g. methyl acrylate) is graft-polymerized in an emulsion in the presence of 1-40 pts.wt. diene rubber and an emulsifier (e.g. salt of dialkyl sulfosuccinate). After the polymerization, a coagulant which reacts with the emulsifier to give a product having a heat decomposition temperature of 220 deg.C (e.g. magnesium sulfate) is added to the latex to obtain a high-nitrile resin.
