Summary:PURPOSE:To eliminate tracking deviations by detecting the envelope of regenerative RF signals from a tape to execute a prescribed arithmetic operation, increasing/decreasing the preset value of FG pulses according to a result and braking it at a prescribed number. CONSTITUTION:When a motor M is revolved forward at the time of an intermittent slow reproduction, the voltage to control a capstan reaches from a halt to a servocontrol section via a fixed time acceleration voltage section so that a video head tracks the video track of a tape. Meantime, a control part 23 counts capstan FG signals with a counter and, based on the previous control starting point as a reference, calculates a servo amount from the size and form of the envelope of the regenerative RF signals at a halt state. Braking is applied at a counter number zero and the motor is made to step tentatively. By changing the counted number, since the deviation between the video head and the track can be varied at the servocontrol section, a screen noise is invisible during the halt of an intermittent forwarding.
