Summary:PURPOSE:To permit circulating drying except simple reserving and carry out very efficient drying by a method wherein opening and closing valves are provided so as to be capable of changing the capacity of a reserving chamber into a large capacity substantially by opening the opening and closing valves among the same valves in the partitioning mechanism of the reserving chamber, which are adjacent in up-and-down relation. CONSTITUTION:In a drying chamber 1, grains are dried by hitting hot air against the grains flowing down toward the lower end of the drying chamber 1. A plurality of grain reserving chambers 10, provided with a partitioning mechanism capable of communicating and receiving the grains through the opening and closing valves 19, are arranged in the direction of up-and- down. Grains, struck by hot air in the drying chamber and discharged, are sent into respective grain reserving chambers selectively. Further, the opening and closing valves, adjacent up-and- down among the same valves 19 in the partitioning mechanism of the reserving chambers, and opened so as to be changeable into the reserving chamber of a large capacity substantially. A switching device 25, switching the opening and closing valves 19 automatically so that the changeable condition can be set on the base of the lowermost stage reserving chamber 10a, is provided whereby the grains, circulated while receiving drying hot air, are sent into the uppermost state reserving chamber, which has become of a large capacity, when the large capacity reserving chamber is set at the lowermost state while communicating a plurality of reserving chambers by retaining the opening and closing valves in opened condition.
