Summary:PURPOSE:To form an org. dye layer, the surface characteristic of which withstands order of an optical type by transferring a tape-shaped substrate in a longitudinal direction while maintaining a specified distance from a nozzle aperture and supplying an org. dye soln. under a specified pressure from the nozzle aperture. CONSTITUTION:The nozzle 3 is formed with the nozzle aperture 4 having a specified width at its top end. A base film 2 is transferred longitudinally as a roller 1 revolves. The aperture 4 faces the film 2 at a specified spacing. While the film 2 is transferred at a constant speed, the org. dye soln. is supplied under the specified pressure from the aperture 4, by which the org. dye is applied at a specified film thickness on the film 2. Since the film 2 is not held in sliding contact with the nozzle, etc., at this time, the surface characteristic of the org. dye layer has the high accuracy.
