Summary:PURPOSE:To enable a liquid food to be uniformly heated in a plurality of heat accepting medium passages at a heat exchanging part by a method wherein a thermal insulating layer is formed between adjoining different kinds of heat exchanging medium passages at an interface part in a plurality of heat exchanging parts. CONSTITUTION:A thermal insulating layer 22 is formed between the fourth heat applying thermal medium passage 8d at an adjoining first heat exchanging part 9 and the fourth heat receiving medium passage 7d of the second heat exchanging part 9'. When Japanese rice wine and hot water having different temperatures to each other are flowed in the first to sixth heat receiving medium passages 7a to 7f and heat giving medium passages 8a to 8f, the Japanese rice wine is heated and sterilized by heat of hot water. At this time, hot water flowing in the fourth to sixth heat giving medium passages 8d, 8e and 8f at the first heat exchanging part 9 is decreased in its temperature by heating exchanging operation at the second heat exchanging part 9'. Since a thermal insulating layer 22 is present between the adjoining fourth heat giving medium passage 8d and the fourth heat receiving medium passage 7d located at an interface part between the first and second heat exchanging parts 9 and 9', a heat exchanging operation performed between the heat giving medium passage 8d and the heat receiving medium passage 7d is prevented and the Japanese rice wine in the fourth heat receiving medium passage 7d is heated by hot water in the third heat giving medium passage 8c to show a predetermined sterilization temperature.
