Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a stable wave dissipation structure by forming many slits on the opposite side walls of a cellular box body having an open bottom, mounting the cellular box body on an underwater foundation mound and then packing the box body with many wave dissipation blocks. CONSTITUTION:Many slits 22 are formed in a horizontal direction on each side wall 19 and division 20 of a cellular box body 14 having many cells 12 and an open bottom 16. The cellular box body 14 is, then, placed on an underwater riprap mound A. Thereafter, each cell 12 is packed with many wave dissipation blocks 24, thereby forming a bottomless wave dissipation structure 10. A wave acting on the structure 10 is dissipated due to reflection at the front thereof, and a wave flowing inside through each slit 22 is pertinently dissipated with the wave dissipation blocks 24. According to the aforesaid construction, the structure 10 can be easily constructed, even when water depth is considerably large and a construction place is faced to an open sea with heavy waves. In addition, high wave dissipation performance can result, and it becomes possible to obtain a bottomless wave dissipation structure ensuring a calm inland sea area.
