Summary:PURPOSE:To accurately detect the surface temperature of a heat roll without damaging a sensor by energizing a supporting shaft to press a roll to the heat roll and holding a temperature sensor closely to the heat roll. CONSTITUTION:With respect to a supporting shaft 40, a wide sensor attaching part 40b is provided between rolls 41 and 42, and a temperature sensor 43 is attached to this sensor attaching part 40b. The supporting shaft 40 is properly energized by an energizing means to press rolls 41 and 42 to a heat roll 36, and the temperature sensor 43 is approximated to the heat roll 36 to come into slight contact with the heat roll 36 and is positioned and held in this position. The temperature sensor 43 is electrically connected to a controller 44, and the controller 44 is electrically connected to a heater 38. The surface temperature of the rotating heat roll 36 is detected by the temperature sensor 13. Thus, the surface temperature of the heat roll 36 is accurately detected without damaging the temperature sensor 43 or the heat roll 36 at the time of fixing.
