Summary:PURPOSE:To eliminate a fear of cracking to a sealing member and to stably provide constantly excellent airtightness and insulating ability by sealing a lead, inserted in an inner cylinder part, with sealing glass and blockform filler- contained glass protruded to a level lower than that of the inner cylinder part. CONSTITUTION:Sealing of a lead 3 with sealing glass and filler-contained glass is effected as shown in a diagram. A metallic outer ring 2 is first positioned to a sealing jig 13 made of graphite, a cylindrical sealing glass tablet 12' is inserted through an inner cylinder part 2c of the metallic outer ring 2 in a sealing hole 14 of the sealing jig 13, and a cylindrical sealing glass tablet 11' is then inserted in the inner cylinder part 2c. Finally, the lead 3 is inserted in the sealing glass tablet 11' and the filler-container glass tablet 12', and a whole is heated to approximate 950-1000 deg.C. By melting the glass components of the sealing glass tablet 11' and the filler-container glass tablet 12', the lead 3 is sealed in an airtight manner.
