Summary:PURPOSE:To carry out the subject drying for the purpose of giving suitable shrink properties and prevent generation of cracks on the subject sponge by, after molding, water washing and dehydrating the sponge, then drying it to a specified water content while controlling the rate of water evaporation and furthermore drying. CONSTITUTION:A cellulose sponge water washed and dehydrated after molding is subjected to constant rate drying to 150-200wt.% water content while controlling the rate of water evaporation to 200-500kg/m /h and subsequently to drying in a low water content state (falling rate drying) while controlling the temperature to <=150 deg.C, thus carrying out the objective drying.
