Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a bleachable pulp while improving the operation efficiency of a digester and preventing the lowering of pulp quality by defibrating a reject separated from digested pulp and treating the reject with an alkaline solution and oxygen. CONSTITUTION:Reject separated from digested pulp is defibrated and then treated with an alkaline solution and oxygen to obtain bleachable pulp. Preferably, the concentration in the defibration operation is 0.5-5.0%, the treating concentration of the alkaline solution and oxygen is 0.5-5.0%, the reaction temperature is 60-100 deg.C and the reaction time is 30-180min.
