Summary:PURPOSE:To suppress the use amount of an insulating oil to the minimum level and improve the reliability of a cable by controlling the supply of an insulating oil to a connection tube in vacuum state which is tilted to the lower position of an extruder immediate before a metal sheath is formed on a cable core after impregnation with an insulating oil. CONSTITUTION:A tube bent like a hill is used for an air-tight connecting tube 2 into which a cable core 1 after impregnation with an insulating oil is inserted in vacuum condition and the tube is so put as to be lower in the side of a metal sheath extruding apparatus 3 and connected with the metal sheath extruding apparatus 3. As soon as metal sheath extrusion on the outer circumference of the cable core 1 is started, valves 14, 15 are opened and while the oil level 13 of the insulating oil in an insulating oil supply controlling tank 19 is constantly controlled by a float switch 16 and the vacuum state is kept as it is, a refined oil is supplied to the air-tight connecting tube 2 immediate before the metal sheath extruding apparatus 3 to coat the outer circumference of the cable core 1 with a metal sheath by the metal sheath extruding apparatus 3 and on the completion of the coating, impregnation with the insulating oil is completed. The necessary amount of the insulating oil becomes the minimum level and an oil-immersed electric power cable with high reliability is manufactured within a short time.
