Summary:PURPOSE:To heighten the strength of an electrolyte plate without changing electrochemical properties of a battery and prevent the sheet from breaking to extend the service life by composing the electrolyte sheet by laminating a LiAlO2 particle-retaining sheet, an electrolytic sheet, etc. CONSTITUTION:A battery is prepared using an electrolyte plate 14 composed of a Lithium aluminate particle-retaining sheet 16, an alumina fiber sheet 18, and an electrolytic sheet 20 of an alkali metal carbonate. In this case, the electrolyte plate 14 is prepared by laminating the retaining sheet 16, the alumina fiber sheet 18, and the electrolytic sheet 20. Then, the electrolyte plate 14 is held between an anode 10 of a nickel-based porous plate and a cathode 12 of a nickel-based porous plate.
