Summary:PURPOSE:To decrease the number of components, to reduce the cost, and to prevent a defect in connection such as disconnection by forming a printed electrode for connection of conductive resin on a transparent lead-out electrode of a flexible film substrate and folding the flexible film substrate at the electrode part for connection. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower substrates 1 and 2 are arranged opposite each other at a distance, and also sealed with a sealing agent 5 while the uniform interval is maintained with gap materials, and liquid crystal is charged between them to form a liquid crystal layer 6, thereby constituting a cell. Then the electrode 10 for connection is formed on the lower substrate 2 by printing the conductive resin, wherein Ag, carbon, etc., are dispersed in pattern on a transparent lead-out electrode 4' of ITO, etc., and an anisotropic conductive film 11 is formed in an area of the connection electrode 10 which is connected to a driving circuit board 9. This electrode 10 and the connection electrode of the board 9 are bonded by thermocompression. The electrode 10 composed of the flexible film substrate is a pattern of the conductive resin and flexible and connection defects such as an open circuit due to a shock and bending stress to the transparent electrode are prevented.
