Summary: | PURPOSE:To prevent the destruction due to the contact of a shutter with a spindle motor and an optical head by arranging projections slightly higher than the spindle motor in an area held between a disk and a cartridge on a base. CONSTITUTION:A disk driving spindle motor 9, an optical head 10, and a carrying mechanism are fixed on a base 8, and projections 5 which have the leading ends protruding into the cartridge 1 are disposed in an area 11 held between a disk 4 and the cartridge on the base 8, and the height of these projections is made slightly higher than at least the spindle motor. These projections 5a and 5b do not hinder the operation of the carrying mechanism when a shutter 2 is normally released. When the shutter 2 is not normally opened and the disk is inserted in this state, projections 5a and 5b and the shutter come into contact with each other and the carrying operation is interrupted before the shutter 2 comes into contact with spindle motor 9 and the optical head 10. Thus, the destruction of a disk device is prevented. |
