Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent the thawing of snow by a method in which the contact points of small expanded wires are melted for bonding and the small wire assembly so formed is placed on the ground. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin is heated and mixed with an blowing agent and extruded through a mouth piece to form many expanded small wires. In this case, the contact portions of the adjacent small wires are bonded by melting to form a small wire assembly 12 having formless spaces 13 between the adjacent small wires. The assembly 12 is placed over-all slope of skiing ground 10, a nonwoven fabric 17 is placed on the assembly 12 by fixing parts, and a synthetic resin mat 16 is placed on the fabric 17. The thawing of snow by the heat of the ground can thus be effectively prevented and the conduction of the heat by water can be prevented because the thawed water permeates quickly into the ground through the spaces 13 of the assembly 12.
