Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the subject material excellent in adhesion to rubbers by attaching a specific epoxy compound and a curing agent therefor to polyester- based synthetic fiber, heat-treating the fabric and then treating the heat-treated fabric with a solution containing a specific ethyleneurea compound or/and a polyisocyanate and a resorcin formaldehyde latex(RFL). CONSTITUTION:An epoxy compound (preferred example; a polyglycicyl ether compound of a polyhydric alcohol) having >=2 epoxy groups and a polyvinyl emulsion prepared by grafting active hydrogen-containing amino groups as a curing agent therefor are attached to polyester-based synthetic fiber. The resultant synthetic fiber is then drawn and heat-treated at 150-260 deg.C to provide filaments of the aforementioned fiber. The obtained filaments are intertwisted to afford a cord, which is treated with a bonding solution containing an ethyleneurea compound (preferred example; diphenylmethanediethyleneurea compound) expressed by the formula (R is aromatic hydrocarbon; P is 0, 1 or 2) or/and a blocked polyisocyanate compound and a resorcin-formalin-rubber latex and subsequently heat-treated at 150-260 deg.C to afford a polyester-based fiber material excellent in adhesion to rubbers.
