Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a coating film of good appearance and high performance by first applying an electrodeposition coating material having low initiating temp. of curing on a material to be coated, then applying a coating material containing a specified amt. of hydrophilic solvent and ketone solvent by wet- on-wet method, and curing both films at one time. CONSTITUTION:First, an electrodeposition coating material having 100-140 deg.C initiating temp. of curing is applied on the material to be coated. During this coating film is not hardened, a coating material containing a hydrophilic solvent by 15-100wt.% to the whole amt. of solvent on coating, and ketone solvent by the max. 10wt.% is applied thereon. Then, both coating films are cured at one time. By this method, the coating films are formed by wet-on-wet state, which gives high performance excellent in appearance, weather resistance and chipping resistance, and the obtd. film is especially suitable for outside boards of automobiles.
