Summary:PURPOSE:To shorten the construction period and reduce the construction cost by inserting a casing tube into the ground with a striking machine and excavating earth and sand to be discharged to form the vertical shaft, and pressing the casing tube in the vertical shaft as a side wall member of the vertical shaft. CONSTITUTION:A striking machine body 8 is disposed on the ground where a vertical shaft is to be constructed, a casing tube 2 is clamped by the clamp device 10 of the striking machine body 8, a rotating motor 13 is started to insert the casing tube 2 into the ground. Next, a crane 16 is operated, a grab bucket 15 is raised, and earth and sand in the casing tube 2 are excavated and taken out to form the vertical shaft. Then, when the vertical shaft reaches the desired depth, the casing tube 2 is laid in the vertical shaft as a side wall member of the vertical shaft. When the vertical shaft reaches a desired depth, a horizontal drift 4 communicating with an existing horizontal drift 1 is excavated. Before excavating the horizontal drift, drug is filled around the communicating horizontal drift 4 to prevent water from invading.
