Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a coating composition of high pigment concentration improved in film-forming properties and film appearance by blending an aqueous dispersion of a specified fluoro-copolymer with a water-soluble resin. CONSTITUTION:A fluoro-olefin (a), a macromonomer (b) having a hydrophilic part, and if necessary, other monomer (c) are subjected to emulsion polymerization in the presence of a water-soluble tree radical initiator (d) and, if necessary, an emulsifying agent (e) in an aqueous medium (f) preferably containing no hydrophilic organic solvent under a pressure of 1-100kg/cm at 0-100 deg.C to give an aqueous dispersion (A) wherein a fluoro-copolymer composed essentially of 20-80mol% polymerized units based on component (a) and 0.1-25mol% polymerized units based on component (b) is dispersed in component (f). Component A is blended with a water-soluble resin (B) preferably comprising a COOH- containing fluoro-copolymer.
