Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a photograph print with proper density by recording frame position information indicating the position of an exposed frame when the brightness of an object is low and detecting the frame position information even if the edge of the frame is lost. CONSTITUTION:A low-brightness decision means which decides whether or not the brightness of the object is low and a recording means which records the pieces of frame position information 34 and 35 indicating the position of the exposed frame on a photographic film when it is decided that the brightness of the object is low are provided. The photographic printer is provided with frame position information detection sensors 34 and 35 and set at a print position for the low-brightness frame wherein the pieces of information 34 and 35 are recorded according to those pieces of information 34 and 35. By the photographic printing method, the information 34 is recorded at the time of the photography of the low-brightness information 34 and the information 35 is recorded when the low-brightness object is photographed with a stroboscopic device; and the printer is set at the print position for photographic printing according to the information 34 and exposure control by stroboscopic correction is performed for the frame 37 wherein the information 35 is recorded.
