Summary: | PURPOSE:To prevent the melt bonding of green pellets to each other and to enhance yield by coating the green pellets of granulated coal ash with MgO and/or ZrO2 and sintering the coated green pellets. CONSTITUTION:Water, coal ash and a binder in separate hoppers 1-3 are fed into a kneader 4, kneaded and fed into a pan type granulator 5, where the kneaded material is granulated and coated with powder of MgO and/or ZrO2. The resulting coated green pellets are housed once in a hopper 6 and dropped on a grate 7' covered with grate protecting bed pellets fed from a hopper 6'. The dropped pellets are introduced into a sintering furnace 7 isolated from the air, an igniting device 10 is ignited and the pellets are sintered under suction by a blower 9 through suction boxes 8. The sintered pellets are sent to a product recovering hopper 13 through a belt conveyor 12. |
