Summary:PURPOSE:To realize a travel in accordance with a driver's desire by providing a speed change time setting means capable of setting a target speed change time manually and freely on an automatic transmission speed change controller for conducting speed change control on a basis of a target speed change time. CONSTITUTION:A control unit 100 controls a speed change of an automatic transmission 104 in accordance with a predetermined speed change pattern and on the basis of a throttle opening and a turbine revolution number detected by means of sensors 101, 102. Also, the control unit 100 is set with a manual switch 105 which is a target speed change time setting means. A duty solenoid valve 33 in a hydraulic control circuit 30 is controlled according to the target speed change time of 'hard', 'normal' and 'soft', and a corresponding oil pressure is generated by means of a pressure regulator 32, and a control is made so that a speed change time of a multi-step transmission 10 may become a target speed change time. Thus, a travel in accordance with a driver's desire can be realized.
