Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a device which has superior stability without using a photoreceptor by providing a picture display belt and a signal electrode group close to it to supply a toner between them and impressing a signal voltage in a picture shape to stick the toner to the display belt. CONSTITUTION:An endless type image carrier 4 is extended to rolls 5, 6, and 7 in a device outer housing 1. A light transmissive belt 4 has a conductive layer 42 on the external surface of a base layer 41 and an insulating thin layer 43 is formed thereupon. A brush T is formed by a toner container 9 opposite to a magnet roll 8 and when no signal is impressed to a signal electrode 10, the toner is not stuck to the external surface of the belt 4 to be carried out; when a signal voltage is impressed, the toner of the toner brush at the electrode part is charged, and some of the toner sticks T2 by coulombic force. Consequently, picture information to be displayed is formed as a toner picture successively on the external surface of the belt 4 according to the rotation of the belt 4. Consequently, high-contrast display and color display are obtained.
