Summary:PURPOSE:To control an actual current in a rotational region over a wide speed range with high accuracy by estimating a change of the rotational position of a rotor within a finite period of time required for the control of said actual current and by causing said actual current to flow in the manner of coinciding with the true rotational position at the time of the execution of said control. CONSTITUTION:An actual current I is supplied to an AC rotating machine M by a supply means Cl, detected by a current detecting means C2 and inputted to a coordinate transformation means C4. On the other hand, the position of said rotating machine M is detected by a detecting means C3 and inputted to said coordinate transformation means C4. A coordinate-transformed C4 actual current I' is inputted to a control means C5 for the purpose of obtaining a deviation I from a target current I*. A change with in the finite period of time of a detected C3 rotational position is estimated C6 and inputted together with said deviation I to a correcting means C7 and corrected so that said deviation I is reduced. Corrected results are inputted to said current supply means Cl to control the actual current I. Thus, the actual current in a rotational region over a wide range from high speed to low speed is controlled with high accuracy.
