Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the signal propagation delay time by selecting one of 3 display values with an output signal and using the selected value as the number of words received via a data transfer system. CONSTITUTION:A byte number received via a data transfer system is set in a byte number register 2 and a head byte address is set to an address register 4. Then the number of transferred words output control discrimination value of the registers 2, 4 is used by a discrimination circuit 8, from which a 1st transferred words output control signal for output control of a word number display value of the byte number register 2 and a 2nd transferred words output control signal for the output control of word number display value +2 are outputted. The deciding circuit 8 outputs a signal selecting any of a word number display value, a word number display value +1 and a word number display value +2. Thus, the number of circuit components is reduced and the signal propagation delay time is reduced.
