PURPOSE:To facilitate the manufacturing of pellets having a good cut face and an even cut length by a method wherein strands are run between upper and lower feed rolls using a hold-down roll and a belt conveyor inclined forwardly down, fed onto a supporting stand having a fixed blade at its end and cut off by a rotary blade while being sprayed with a liquid from above. CONSTITUTION:Strands 12 in a bundle is passed a roller 1 and a roller 3, and streamed before the end of a belt conveyor 5, the strands 12 are arranged approximately laterally in a row on the roller 1. The strands 12 are cut off between the rollers 1 and 3 by a scissors, the cut strand ends are run onto the belt conveyor 5 inclined forwardly down via a roller 2, and the strands are rearranged perfectly laterally in a row by a hold-down roller 4, thereafter fed between the upper and lower feed rolls 6 and 7 of a strand cutter, sprayed with a spray liquid 13 from an upper spray nozzle 11 while being forced against a scraper 18 and the upper surface of a supporting stand 8 having a fixed blade 9 at its end and cut off by the strand cutter.
