Summary:PURPOSE:To improve arc-extinguishing performance by providing a partitioning part for insulating an exhaust space from an opening and closing mechanism part, and an auxiliary space for communicating the exhaust space with an exhaust hole and the opening and closing mechanism part side. CONSTITUTION:At the time of an accident, arc is generated between contacts 33, 34 by the opening operation of a contact part 2, and a part of arc gas is run out from an auxiliary space 15 into an opening and closing mechanism part 5 and also exhausted from an exhaust hole 13. The run of the arc is accelerated by the flow of the arc gas. As an exhaust space 11 is insulated from the mechanism part 5 by a partitioning part 6, then, reignition between the mechanism part 5 and the lower arc running plate 4 can be prevented. The exhaust capacity on the back side of an arc-extinguishing body 9 is increased by the auxiliary space 15 communicated with the exhaust space 11, and the arc gas can be exhausted to the outside and to the mechanism part 5, so that the arc gas in the exhaust space 11 can be more smoothly exhausted. Thus, the arc can be rapidly moved to the arc-extinguishing body 9 and becomes difficult to be reignited.
