Summary:PURPOSE:To facilitate linking work of a transmitting unit so as to improve workability at the time of execution for mounting a sliding door by providing a turn stop member, which disconnectably engages with an engaging part formed in a drum part, in the vicinity of the drum part in a sliding door closer. CONSTITUTION:A transmitting unit of toothed belt 11 or the like, provided in a sliding door 1, is linked around a drum 15 of a sliding door closer 9 and a driven pulley, and the sliding door 1 is self closed by door-closing force of the sliding door closer 9 accumulated by opening action of the sliding door 1. In this self-closing device, a turn stop member, disconnectably engaged with an engaging part formed in the drum part 15, is provided in the vicinity of the drum part 15 of the sliding door closer 9. Door-closing force is previously accumulated in the sliding door closer 9, and in a condition that the drum part 15 is locked by the turn stop member, the transmitting unit is linked around the drum 15 and the driven pulley.
