PURPOSE:To adjust a door-closing speed through very easy work by additionally providing a speed adjusting part in a self-closing device, internally mounted to a case, in a manner wherein the speed adjusting part can be directly viewed through an opening in the lower of the case. CONSTITUTION:A self-closing device, provided with a drum 15, elastic device for accumulating energy by opening this drum 15 and a door-closing speed control part, is internally mounted to a case 5 in which an opening 5b for fitting the upper end part of a sliding door 1 is formed in a bottom surface part 5a. In this self closing device, by additionally providing a speed adjusting part so that it can be directly viewed through the opening 5b from the lower of the case 5, a setting speed of the door-closing speed control part is made adjustable. In this way, a door-closing speed can be very easily adjusted with no necessity for troublesome operation such as removing an inspection cover of the case 5.
