Summary:PURPOSE:To protect a camera lens and to turn a grip to be in the containing state by providing the grip supported to the lower face of a camera main body with a sufficient length for gripping by a hand and a cover provided to the lower part of the grip opposite to the camera lens in front of a video camera while the grip is contained. CONSTITUTION:A grip 6 is arranged to the lower part of a video camera 3 and in front of a VTR section 2 and supported by a shaft 61 and its length is sufficiently longer for gripping the grip 6 for video recording. A cover 62 is provided to the lower part of the grip 6 and the mount position of the cover 62 onto the grip 6 is decided so that the cover 62 is opposite to the camera lens 31 when the upper face is turned upward and in the contained state till the upper face opposes to the lower face of the video camera section 3. The cover 62 is provided with an angle of 90 deg. continuously and integrally from the lower end of the grip 6. Then the cover 62 has a size to cover the camera lens 31, a sound collection microphone 4 and a VTR operating button 5.
