Summary:PURPOSE:To provide the titled emulsion preparation having high stability and containing 1-[1-{2-[(3-chlorobenzyl)oxy]phenyl}-vinyl]-1H-imidazole or its salt, an oily substance, a nonionic surface active agent and water. CONSTITUTION:An imidazole-type antimycotic emulsion for external use contains (A) 0.2-2.0% 1-[1-{2-[(3-chlorobenzyl)oxy]phenyl}-vinyl]-1H-imidazole, (B) 1-50% oil substance (e.g. a liquid higher alcohol such as 2-hexyldecanol, a solid higher alcohol such as cetyl alcohol, etc.), (C) 0.5-15% nonionic surface active agent (e.g. sorbitan fatty acid ester), (D) 0.1-2.5% carboxyvinyl polymer, (E) 0-30% 2-6C primary-tertiary alcohol, (F) 0-30% polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight of 200-4,000, and (G) necessary amout of water (the total of the components is 100%).
