Summary:PURPOSE:To extract and roll a material at regular intervals with high efficiency by providing plural material detectors and a controller for calculating based on the signal from the detectors and emitting a succeeding material extraction start command to a heating furnace on an extraction conveyor table. CONSTITUTION:The detectors 4, 5 and 6 are arranged on the table 2 at intervals of l1 and l2, and the controller 7 is provided. The length of each hot-rolled material 8 is calculated by the controller 7 by using the time t1 and t3 when the tip and tail of the material 8 pass through by the detector 4, time t2 when the tip passes through by the detector 5 and interval l1. The actual rolling speed of the preceding material is calculated from the time t4 and t6 when the tip and tail pass through by the detector 6, the necessary rolling time is calculated from the difference between the predicted time t6 and t7 when the tip and tail pass through the position of a rolling mill 3, the extraction time of the succeeding material is further calculated, and a succeeding material extraction start command is given to a heating furnace 1. Consequently, even if the length of the material 8 is fluctuated in hot rolling, the material is extracted and rolled at regular intervals with high efficiency, and labor productivity is improved.
