Summary:PURPOSE:To make it possible to stable and rapidly process a silver halide photographic sensitive material having superior original reproducibility by processing the sensitive material contg. a redox compd. releasing a development inhibitor on being oxidized in a phydrophilic colloidal layer with a waver soluble alkali developing soln. having a specified compsn. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide photographic sensitive material contg. a redox compd. capable of releasing a development inhibitor on being oxidized is processed with a water soluble alkali developing soln. contg. at least 0.15 mol/l dihydroxybenzene developing agent but not practically contg. an auxiliary developing agent and further contg. at least 0.25 mol/l free sulfite ions, at least 20 mg/l 5- or 6-nitroindazole and an enough alkali agent to adjust the developing soln. to pH>=10.5. The photographic sensitive material having superior original reproducibility at the time of photographing a literal or dot original can be stably and rapidly processed.
