Summary:PURPOSE:To attain high-speed processing by parallelly executing the processing of modifying the high-order address of a data pointer and the other processing by a pipe-line function provided for a general purpose DSP (Digital Signal Processor) when processing a series of data while accessing it at intervals. CONSTITUTION:This general purpose DSP is equipped with an arithmetic part 1, data memory part 2, input/output part 3, control part 4 and bus 5. Since the processing of modifying the high-order address of the data pointer is executed parallelly with the other processing by the pipe-line function provided for the general purpose DSP and a series of data equipped with regularity stored in an internal memory are processed at intervals, the data equipped with regularity can be processed as prescribed while being accessed at intervals without wasting one instruction cycle only for changing the data pointer. Thus, the processing time of the general purpose DSP can be shortened.
