Summary:PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a web by providing a rotary body carrying out fixing while holding wherebetween and transanferring a supporting material supporting a toner image, the web cleaning the rotary body, and providing a means transferring the web in both forward and backward directions. CONSTITUTION:The web 34 is connected with a web driving motor 6, a gear 17 is intermediated at the time of a forward rotation, that is, during a normal copying action, and a gear interlocked with a web taking up shaft 31 is rotated to take up the web. On the other hand, when the web is rotated in a reverse direction, that is, the web is rewound, a solenoid 16 is turned on, a rocking plate is rotated in the direction of (b) centering around a shaft 13, gears 11 and 17 are separated, and gears 12 and 18 are engaged. A web feeding quantity is stored on the previous day, the half of the quantity is rewound when main SOWN is carried out on the next day, and this action is repeated. Thus, the life of the web 34 is prolonged.
