Summary:PURPOSE:To improve power supply stability by performing the disconnection of a prime mover only in the case of trouble with a generator when a motoring occurs. CONSTITUTION:A command controller 14 instructs the governor 13 of the prime mover 6 of a generator 4 to increase output. After that, the controller causes a breaker 5 to trip if a speed detector 7 indicates excessive generator speed within a predetermined tolerable motoring period or else if an output detector 10 indicates insufficient generator speed after the period. Even if a power flow detector 11 operates, therefore, the tripping of the breakers 5 does not occurs in the case of either insufficient generator speed within the tolerable motoring period or sufficient generator speed after the tolerable motoring period.
