Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain an alloy material having room temp. tensile strength equal to or above that of a Ti-6Al-4V alloy and excellent in superplastic properties by subjecting a Ti alloy contg. specified Al, V, Mo, O, Fe, Ni, Co and Cr to hot working under prescribed conditions. CONSTITUTION:A Ti alloy constituted of, by weight, 3 to 5% Al, 2.1 to 3.7% V, 0.85 to 3.15% Mo, <=0.15% O, 0.85 to 3.15% Fe%+Ni%+Co%+0.9Cr%, 7 to 13% 2Fe%+2Ni%+2Co%+1.8Cr%+1.5V%+Mo% and the balance Ti is refined. This alloy material is heated to (the beta transformation point -250 deg.C) to the beta transformation point. Next, this heated Ti alloy material is subjected to hot working at >=50% rolling reduction.
