PURPOSE:To recover a state even when an address is changed by saving data in a pair of values set in a data item in a storage medium when the data base is recorded on the storage medium, and writing a stored value based on the pair of values when the data is returned to the data base. CONSTITUTION:When a command to save the data base in a main memory device 3 to an external memory device 4 is issued from an external input/output device 5, a data item readout maintenance command is generated with the automatic data readout means 6 of a central control unit 2. The command is delivered to a command analysis and execution means 8, and the data item and a read out value are set as a pair, then, it is stored in the storage medium of the external memory device 4 from the main memory device 3. When a command to return the data in the external memory device 4 to the data base of the main memory device 3 is issued from the external input/output device 5, the automatic data write means 7 of the central control unit 2 generates a write maintenance command. The command analysis and execution means 8 sets the data at the arranging position of the main memory device 3 corresponding to the number of the data item. In such a way, the state can be recovered to the one when the data is saved even when a real address is changed.
