Summary: | PURPOSE:To prevent lowering of molten metal temp. and the development of oxide film by casting the molten metal after applying facing material containing the specific content of carbon on a mold. CONSTITUTION:At the time of causing the molten metal 4 to flow onto a runner 1 or cavity surface in the mold 2, by executing exothermic reaction between 15-35% carbon contained in the facing material 3 and oxygen in the air, the lowering of molten metal 4 temp. is prevented. Further, by reducing gas of generated carbon monoxide, the development of oxide film on the runner 1 or the cavity surface in the mold 2 is prevented and fluidity of the molten cast steel is improved. |
