Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a demodulator not causing a communication error in a steep phase fluctuation of a transmission line by applying quick search to a phase width of a wider range than a lock range at out of synchronism and correcting a relevant data error. CONSTITUTION:A reception signal 1 is inputted to one terminal of correlation detectors 3b, 3a, 3, 2, 4a, 4b and a PN code series having relative phases 3delta, 2delta, delta, 0, -delta, -2delta, -3delta resulting from a delayed output of a PN code series generator 5 by a shift register 6 is inputted respectively to other terminal of the correlation detectors. An output of each correlation detector is integrated over one period of a PN code at reset integration devices 8b, 8a, 8, 7, 9, 9a, 9b and the result is inputted to a synchronization control section 10. The phase of the PN code series being an output of a phase control section 5 in response to the synchronization search and tracking processing is changed by the synchronization control section 10. Moreover, a reception data and an out of synchronism signal being outputs from the synchronization control section 10 are inputted to an error correction section 11, in which the data are subject to error correction and the result is outputted.
