PURPOSE:To make adjustment checkup quickly and accurately without using hands by storing command values on the amount of emission as adjustment checkup reference values in accordance with a plurality of situations and by conducting the adjustment checkup by taking out the stored values in accordance with the situations. CONSTITUTION:A light-emitting diode 1 of a detecting sensor is supplied with a necessary current from an emission amount control means 7 and an emitted light puts a phototransistor 2 in continuity. A voltage generated therein is given to an input terminal on one side of a comparing means 3, while a variable voltage Vs generated to be a reference voltage by a variable supply voltage control means 5 is given to an input terminal on the other side thereof. Accordingly, the means 3 compares these voltages and gives a comparison result signal to a discriminating means 4. Besides, a control element 6 gives commands to the means 5 and 7 respectively on the basis of the result of discrimination of the means 4. A storage means 9 is provided in the control element 6 and adjustment checkup reference values which are commands for obtaining different amounts of emission from the diode 1 in accordance with situations at the time of adjustment checkup are stored therein. Besides, the means 5 is connected with a command input means 10, whereby the commands of the adjustment checkup reference values stored in the means 9 can be inputted.
