Summary:PURPOSE:To verify at high speed whether the alteration of data is that which a designer expects or not by preparing pattern data files before and after alteration and generating a control table composed of only the record positions of respective hierarchy graphic data and the names of data. CONSTITUTION:The circuit pattern data files F1 and F2 before and after alteration are prepared. The graphic control table S composed of only the record positions 1 of respective hierarchy graphic data and the names of data is generated so as to attain comparison. For retrieving graphic data of the file F1 having the same name as hierarchy graphic data which is read from the file F2, the record position of graphic data in the file F1 can easily be retrieved when the table S is referred to. Then, necessary graphic data can be read from the file F1 based on the obtained record position. Thus, it can be verified at high speed whether the alteration of data is that which the designer expects or not.
