Summary:PURPOSE:To suppress air reverse vortex generated in the vicinity of the end part of an impeller so as to reduce noise by providing aside a straightening vane whose ejecting width is enlarged as coming closer to both side end parts of the impeller, on the inner side of a rear surface plate on the air suction port side of a casing. CONSTITUTION:In a cross flow type air blower, an impeller 4 is arranged inside a casing 1 formed by a front surface plate 2 and a rear surface plate 3. Air is sucked from the air suction port 5a provided on the upper surface part of an air suction passage 5 and led into an impeller 4. After that, the air is discharged from the air discharging port 6a of an air discharging passage 6. In a such structure, a straightening vane 7 is provided aside inside the rear surface plate 3 provided on the air suction port 5a side. In the straightening vane 7, protruding width F is enlarged as coming closer to both side end parts of the impeller 4. It is thus possible to suppress air reverse vortex generated in the vicinity of the end part of the impeller 4 while utilizing the straightening vane 7. As a result, it is possible to reduce noise caused by air reverse vortex.
