Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the electrophotographic sensitive body which has a practical high-sensitivity characteristic and has a stable potential characteristic at the time of repetitive use by providing a photosensitive layer contg. a specific disazo pigment on a conductive base. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer contg. the disazo pigment expressed by formula I is provided on the conductive base. In the formula I, Ar1, Ar2 and Ar3 may be the same or different and denote a bivalent arom. hydrocarbon group or arom. heterocyclic group which may have a substituent; Z denotes an oxygen atom or sulfur atom; R1 and R2 denote a hydrogen atom or alkyl group which may have a substituent. Cp1 and Cp2 denote a residual coupler group having the same or different phenolic hydroxyl groups and one of them is the residual coupler. The photosensitive body having the characteristics excellent in the sensitivity and the potential stability at the time of repetitive use is obtd. in this way.
