Summary:PURPOSE:To eliminate error of millage due to variation of wheel diameter and to obtain an accurate milage by calculating back an wheel diameter through a wheel diameter correcting means. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 12 reads in the wheel diameter and calculates the milage based on the count of rotation detecting pulse being fed upon start of a measuring vehicle. Structural data are then read out from a memory 18 based on the count in a counter 17 upon detection of a ground unit. At this time point, the milage is replaced by the corrected milage in the structural data and corrected. Furthermore, wheel diameter R is calculated back based on the corrected milage and the number of rotation detection pulse, and then the wheel diameter R is replaced by the wheel diameter, read out through a wheel diameter setting circuit 11, and corrected. pi.R/90 is subsequently added to the corrected milage for every rotation detection pulse thus calculating the milage.
