Summary:PURPOSE:To reserve mail transmission by using user-user information so as to send reservation information such as a time requesting mail transmission and to discriminate whether or not the reception is enabled thereby discriminating whether or not the mail transmission is successful in advance. CONSTITUTION:A caller side mail equipment 11 is provided with a reservation information transmission means 16 sending data quantity of a mail to be sent before the transmission start of the mail and information such as a time requesting the mail transmission and a mail data transmission means 17 starting the mail transmission at the time when a reply of reception enable comes from a called party. Moreover, the called party mail equipment 12 is provided with a schedule memory 24 written with a called schedule, a reception enable discrimination means 19 retrieving the schedule and discriminating whether or not the reception is enable when the time requesting the mail transmission and a reply means 16 replying when enable is discriminated. Thus, the mail transmission is retrieved in matching with the schedule before the mail transmission start and the mail is sent with high probability.
