PURPOSE:To enable execution of automatic adjustment in conformity with a person taking a bath by detecting a rise in a water level by a water level detecting means, by determining the quantity of increased hot water from the detected amount of the rise in the water level and a memorized cross-sectional area of a bathtub and by adjusting a set temperature of the hot water in accordance with the volume of the body of the person. CONSTITUTION:After hot water of a set temperature is filled up to a set level in a bathtub 1, it is monitored by a pressure sensor 7 whether or not the water level rises to a prescribed level or above. When the water level rises to the prescribed level or above, a judgement is made that a person has taken a bath, and an apparent increase in the quantity of the hot water is determined from an amount (g) of rise in the water level at that time and the cross-sectional area S of the bathtub stored in a memory 23. When the person taking the bath is judged to be a child, a temperature is set in a hot-water temperature setting circuit 26 and the temperature of the hot water in the bathtub 1 is controlled. When the person taking the bath is judged to be an older person, the set temperature in the hot-water temperature setting circuit 26 is controlled so that it will be a prescribed input temperature. According to this constitution, the set temperature can be adjusted automatically in conformity with the person taking the bath.
