PURPOSE:To improve synthetic performance of a tyre by twisting a steel wire having the specified extension degree and an organic fiber filament to form a belt cord, and forming a belt layer of belt ply made of belt cords arranged in parallel with each other at the specified angle of inclination. CONSTITUTION:In a tyre 1, a toroidal carcass 6 is stretched between bead cores 5 of beads 4 positioned at the inner ends of a side wall 3 in the tyre radial direction, and a belt layer 7 is arranged on the radially outside of the carcass 6. In this case, a belt cord 9, which is made of a compound cord obtained by twisting a steel wire having 5kg extension degree more than 2% and 20kg extension degree less than 4% and an organic fiber filament, is buried in the belt layer 7. Multiple belt plys 7A, 7B arranged in parallel with each other at the angle of inclination less than 35 degree against a tyre equator are stacked to form the belt cord 9. Various kinds of performance of tyre are thereby improved mutually.
