Summary:PURPOSE:To attain the remote job entry between devices of different types with use of a stand-by host by using a high speed channel connection circuit to transfer the job applied to a host of a different type to the stand-by host at a high speed and storing and returning the result of execution via a shared disk. CONSTITUTION:The job applied to a host 1 of different type is transferred to a stand-by host 4 at a high speed via a high speed channel connection device 21 and a shared disk 31. Then the job is carried out by the host 4. The executing result of the job is stored in the disk 31 and then returned to the host 1. Then the remote job entry is performed between the devices of different types via the host 4. As a result, the resources of the host 4 are effectively used and at the same time the load of the host 1 is reduced. Then the overall throughput of a host system is improved.
