Summary:PURPOSE:To easily, speedily, and accurately find an instruction step in a COBOL program which causes an abnormal end by storing an object request image of each instruction in an intermediate file by a compiling means in addition to a compilation list image. CONSTITUTION:The display device 5 for the COBOL program list when compil ing and storing a source program 1 in the intermediate file 3 stores the object list image in addition to the compilation list image and displays a relative execution address in each instruction step in the program list if the program ends abnormally to find the abnormal end occurrence step. Consequently, the instruction step in the COBOL program which causes the abnormal end is easily, speedily, and accurately found.
